Appears that viewership peaked around the end of Season 1, was good for the start of Season 2, and then has been steadily declining since. Season 5, especially, started out lower than any other season began or ended, and lost almost 5 million viewers by the end.

I wonder what makes people leave the show.

Theories?

  1. Too many characters, too hard to keep track of what happened to who, and how they all tie together. Just my thoughts, as a person who can't keep track of all the characters, and what happened to who, and how they all tie together.

  2. I avoided getting on the bandwagon because I used to see previews and think "what the heck is that show about"...then when I found I could catch up and watch it all online I decided to check it out.

To be honest season 1 was kind of interesting, different, mysterious. But I know a lot of people got frustrated that after a while...later seasons, there were still no/few answers. I got creeped out by dead/missing characters appearing all bloody and possessed--that's not my fave. I far prefer the newer seasons---still interesting characters, still mysteries, more answers, less creepiness.
